The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Craft
and Design Foundation are presenting a multidisciplinary art exhibition titled 《Our
Enchanting Paradise》 at Culture Station Seoul 284 through July 27.
《Our Enchanting Paradise》 explores the
themes of happiness and utopia (paradise), revisiting the symbolic meanings
people once associated with Seoul Station—departure, excitement, anticipation,
and comfort—while embarking on a journey to rediscover what happiness and
paradise mean today.
The exhibition showcases over 50 works spanning diverse genres
such as VR, photography, installation, video, immersive media art, artificial
intelligence, sculpture, and painting, offering a wide range of perspectives on
happiness and utopia from participating artists.

In the Central Hall on the first floor, visitors can experience
immersive media art works born from the fusion of antiquity and technology,
alongside works by 21 Korean contemporary artists (or collectives), including
Koo Seongyoun, Jinah Roh, Moon Kyungwon & Jeon Joonho, Yang Jung Uk,
Yeondoo Jung, and Ha TaeBum.
In the west corridor of the first floor, a “Happiness Store”
offers various cultural and artistic creations for purchase. Additionally, the
“Hope Pharmacy”, a collaborative project with participating artist Yoon
Dongchun, presents his ‘Hopeful Pills’ series to the public.

The exhibition takes place at Culture Station Seoul 284, an art
platform housed in the former Seoul Station building, which celebrates its
100th anniversary in 2025. Originally completed in 1925, the station served as
a key gateway for transport and exchange and stood as a major stage in Korea’s
modern and contemporary history until 2004. In 2011, the original structure was
restored and reopened as a multi-purpose cultural space. A special centennial
exhibition is scheduled for September 2025.
