presents 《Palm to Palm》, a group exhibition featuring
Kim Yunseo, Park Minha, and Park Sunho, on view through September 5 as part of
the 2026 edition of “Perigee Unfold”, the gallery’s exhibition program dedicated
to emerging artists under the age of thirty-five.
《Palm
to Palm》 focuses on the technics through which
contemporary artists construct their own realities by way of belief that
borders on the fantastical. Belief is a kind of promise. The sense of
possibility and conviction contained in the act of believing shapes our lives
and societies, informing the structures of individuals, communities, and,
ultimately, the world itself.

The reality envisioned
by the exhibition does not refer to the *Real*—that which resists
clear capture or representation—but rather to reality
as an index that art can produce and make visible. In this sense, technics
mediated through belief become a means of reaching reality. To preserve fantasy
from erosion, then, is nothing less than to preserve reality itself.
Kim Yunseo, Park
Minha, and Park Sunho each pursue distinct trajectories: tracing distant eras
through the dissection of postcards and errors generated by machine
translation; revealing the tension between ownership and occupation through
photographs of vacant homes belonging to others; and examining glass plate
photographs that recorded starlight alongside the lives of the women who worked
with them. In a state of continual transition, these images embrace their own
absences and incompletions through fragmented acts of observation.

Like the gesture of a
promise or a prayer made with palms pressed together, what these artists place
their faith in is movement: from hand to hand, from belief to reality, from
distant places to those nearby—or in the reverse direction. Shattered
optimism does not remain fixed in mourning or restoration; instead, it becomes
a belief that waits and welcomes what is yet to come. Likewise, the space that
remains after relinquishing possession, without succumbing to despair, gives
rise to forms of loose attachment.
The impulse to care
for things that are disappearing across temporal distances—or
have already vanished—can itself become a means of
sustaining oneself within a site of recovery. In this way, the exhibition turns
its gaze toward fantasies that persist, sidestepping the multiple conclusions
that await these artists and remaining attentive to what endures beyond them.
