Project Space, Under Layer (PS Under Layer), opens its inaugural
exhibition with Park Kyung Ryul’s solo exhibition 《Undefined Rhythm》,
running until November 9.
Creation L, operator of Louis Quatorze, has launched the new
exhibition platform ‘PS Under Layer’ on the first floor, building on the
cultural foundation of Platform-L Contemporary Art Center, timed with Kiaf and
Frieze Seoul. Rather than a conventional institutional gallery, the space
adopts a flexible structure to initiate new challenges for a multifaceted art
ecosystem.

The inaugural project, 《Undefined Rhythm》, explores the true value
of art hidden beneath the surface through the work of Park Kyung Ryul, who
focuses on the essence of painting beyond conventional systems of meaning.
Park’s gestural painting is unconstrained by predetermined forms
or shapes. Instead, it evokes a free-flowing rhythm, revealing moments where
instinct and sensation intersect without the imposition of conscious control.
Through a series of intuitive processes, her pure act of painting breaks away
from traditional interpretation, offering viewers a fresh aesthetic experience.

Standing before Park’s purposeless paintings, viewers are
invited to move beyond the urge to interpret completed images—and instead, to
immerse themselves in the immediate, sensory experiences that unfold within the
space the work inhabits. In this moment of pure perception, art ceases to be a
defined object and becomes a living, organic relationship.
With its first exhibition 《Undefined Rhythm》, PS Under Layer shows that
art need not express something explicit—it can simply be. And in simply being,
it can shift perception. The exhibition aspires to open the door to a new layer
of artistic experience, beyond the boundaries of conventional sensibility.
