DOOSAN Art Center DOOSAN Gallery presents the DOOSAN Curator Workshop (DCW) exhibition 《The Green Ray》, on view through September 13.

Co-curated by 2024 DCW alumni Kim Yurmyurng, Kim Jinju, and Shin Jaemin, 《The Green Ray》comprises three individual exhibitions shaped by intersecting thoughts and experiences.

Over the course of the program, the three curators read, wrote, reflected, and traveled together—engaging in a sustained inquiry into curatorial approaches that respond to the affective and material conditions of the present. 《The Green Ray》 is the distilled outcome of this journey, bringing together an accumulation of questions, sensibilities, and attitudes.

The exhibition takes its title from a rare optical phenomenon—a fleeting green flash that appears on the horizon where the sea and sky, day and night meets. Drawing on this momentary occurrence, the exhibition reflects on the elusive nature of perception and the attentiveness required to capture what so often slips away. Through this lens, the curators bring into focus and reconfigure the subtle intervals, fleeting affects, and unruly rhythms that escape the grasp of the present.

《The Green Ray》 gestures toward a space-time in which one might recalibrate a sense of balance and encounter others anew, inviting viewers to collectively gaze toward a light of possibility—a green flash shimmering at the edge of life.
