The “2025 Galleries Art Fair” is set to take place at COEX Halls A and B in Seoul from April 16 to 20, marking its largest edition to date. With 168 participating galleries, the fair continues to solidify its reputation as a key barometer of the Korean art market.

Focus on Artist
Discovery – The Core of Galleries
Newly appointed
president of the Korea Galleries Association, Lee Sung-hoon, emphasized that
the essence of running a gallery is not merely commercial but lies in
discovering, nurturing, and supporting artists. In line with this philosophy,
the ‘ZOOM-IN Edition’ program, dedicated to emerging artists, has been
expanded with additional support initiatives.

Now in its sixth edition, the ‘ZOOM-IN Edition’ has broadened its eligibility criteria, increasing the age limit from 39 to 49. From approximately 600 applicants, 10 artists have been selected to showcase their works at the fair, including PRETTYLINEZ Jung Hyun, Regina Kim, Minjung See, Park Bo-sun, Park Ji-soo, Bang Jin-tae, Shin Ye-rin, Lee Ji-woong, Choi Ji-won, and Chu Sang-min.

KB Financial Group
Sponsorship and the New ‘KB Star Award’
A significant
development this year is the sponsorship of the ‘ZOOM-IN Program’ by KB Financial Group, a lead partner of Kiaf
SEOUL. In addition to financial backing, KB Financial Group has introduced the ‘KB
Star Award’, which will be presented to one selected artist. The award
includes participation in KB Financial Group’s 2027 calendar project and a solo
exhibition opportunity at the ART Gallery on the first floor of KB Kookmin
Bank’s new building in Yeouido. This initiative not only provides exposure but
also establishes a model for collaboration between finance and the arts in
artist development.
Expanded Exhibition
Space and New Features
The “2025 Galleries
Art Fair” will utilize the entire A and B Halls of COEX, featuring over 4,000
paintings, sculptures, and installations. This year, a newly introduced ‘Solo
Booth Section’ will highlight individual artists exclusively represented by
participating galleries.
Key galleries such as
Gana Art, Kim Reeah Gallery, Art Space 3, No Gallery, PKM Gallery, Art Side
Gallery, and Doing Art will be located along the main pathway in Hall A.
Visitors will have the opportunity to engage more intimately with these
artists’ works.
Strengthened Digital
Platform and Online Catalog
The Korea Galleries
Association has enhanced digital accessibility for this year’s fair, ensuring a
more convenient viewing experience. The online catalog, introduced last year,
will be available for free from April 11 via the official Galleries Art Fair
website (www.hwami.org). Additionally, selected works from the ‘ZOOM-IN Edition’
will be displayed through COEX’s XPACE
digital media screens.
An Event for Art
Enthusiasts and Families Alike
Despite economic
challenges and political uncertainties, the 2025 Galleries Art Fair is set to
break records with its scale and variety of programs. Lee Sung-hoon encouraged
art lovers and families alike to visit the fair, positioning it as an ideal
spring outing destination.
The “2025 Galleries
Art Fair” is supported by Leading Financial Network as a key partner, and
tickets are available for pre-purchase through the official website.
