Woong
Gallery presents a solo exhibition 《CHAPTER 1. Monster:
Twin Shadows MONSTER》 by Kira Kim, on view through
March 22.
Kira Kim
explores the hidden facets of contemporary society through various media,
including video, painting, sculpture, installation, and performance. His work
embraces complex and weighty themes with warmth, offering audiences a fresh
perspective.

This
solo exhibition, jointly curated by Bon Gallery and Woong Gallery, is
structured into three distinct chapters spread across different floors. Central
to the exhibition is his drawing series, which reflects the continuum of his
various projects.
In each
space, his drawings, alongside corresponding objects and installations, are
thoughtfully presented to harmonize with the unique characteristics of the
environment, with each theme forming a singular silhouette that offers viewers
a new visual and conceptual experience.

Kim’s
drawing series originates from a process of introspection—a method of
organizing his thoughts before embarking on a project. Through this process, he
refines his concepts, broadens his contemplations, and gives concrete form to
the sculptural elements emerging from his subconscious. The vibrant energy that
unfolds on hanji (traditional Korean paper) becomes a kind of code within his
installations, performances, sculptures, and videos, revealing the substance of
his artistic vision.
