Amado Art Space presents a solo exhibition 《Prophecy & Scenario》 by Shin Jungkyun, on view through March 23.

Shin Jungkyun (b. 1986) constructs narratives that traverse the boundary between reality and fiction through archives of found objects and mockumentary-style videos. He consistently questions whether what we see, experience, and know is truly real. However, his focus is not on uncovering some underlying truth behind appearances.

Instead, he responds to unstable and precarious situations by proposing alternative hypotheses or restructuring them in unpredictable ways, offering perspectives that challenge dominant social conventions.

In 《Prophecy & Scenario》, he continues his practice of destabilizing fixed ideas and forms by categorizing his explorations into themes such as reality and fiction, meta-archives, forms of belief, symbols, and signifiers. This approach not only extends his recent material concerns but also references the methodologies embedded in his work from the beginning of his practice. In doing so, the exhibition provides a comprehensive view of how his artistic world has taken shape and the direction it has pursued over time.
