FOUNDRY SEOUL presents 《Cell Struggles》, a group exhibition featuring Anastasia Komar, Effie Wanyi Li, Fernanda Galvão, Hyunhee Doh, and Omyo Cho, on view through May 31.

As FOUNDRY SEOUL’s first group exhibition, 《Cell Struggles》 highlights five emerging female artists whose works explore the complexities and resilience of human existence at the intersection of nature and humanity, technology and emotion, and scientific discovery and mythical imagination.

The cell, as the fundamental unit of life, is a dynamic entity that continuously changes, adapts, and engages in a constant struggle for survival. In this exhibition, the cell serves as a metaphor for the fluidity and resilience of human existence and the dynamism of society.

The internal conflicts individuals experience, the tensions between the individual and the collective, and the broader struggles between humanity and nature unfold in ways that parallel the cell’s perpetual interaction with its environment—dividing, mutating, growing, and perishing in an ongoing cycle.

Through the narratives presented by the five artists, this exhibition examines these interactions from multiple perspectives, opening up new possibilities for a layered and multifaceted interpretation of human existence and the future of life.
