The
Portuguese gallery Duarte Sequeira announced via its Instagram account that it
will be expanding and relocating its Seoul branch to Hannam-dong (61-17
Hannam-daero 20-gil, Yongsan-gu, Seoul) this year.
Founded
by Duarte Sequeira, the son of Mario Sequeira—who first introduced Andy
Warhol’s works to Portugal—the gallery began in Braga, Portugal, in 2019 and
now has locations in London and Seoul.

Entering
the Korean art market in 2022, the gallery first established a space in
Nonhyeon-dong, followed by another in Deoksugung in 2023. This year, it is
closing its Nonhyeon-dong space and relocating to Hannam-dong, a district known
for housing leading international galleries such as Thaddaeus Ropac, Lehmann
Maupin, and Esther Schipper.
Duarte
Sequeira’s new space in Hannam-dong will feature two exhibition areas and an
outdoor terrace for sculpture installations, allowing for larger and more expansive
exhibitions.
