On
June 30, Hyundai Department Store Group announced that it has signed a
three-year sponsorship agreement with The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New
York, one of the world’s most prestigious art institutions. This marks the
first time a Korean retail company has entered into a long-term sponsorship
with the Met.
Through
this partnership, Hyundai Department Store will support the Met’s initiatives
to promote Korean art. The company expects the collaboration to contribute not
only to an academic reevaluation of Korean art but also to raising the global
profile of K-Art within the international art scene.

the Met. Members of the Hyundai Department Store mobile app, along with one
guest, will receive free admission to the museum. In addition, they will have
access to customized docent tours and a private lounge by reservation, as well
as discounts at the museum’s gift shop.
A
representative from Hyundai Department Store stated, “This agreement is the
result of a shared philosophy between Hyundai, which aims to enrich customers’
lives through cultural experiences, and the Met, which shares humanity’s
heritage through art. We will continue to expand cultural experiences in
everyday life through collaborations with world-class cultural and artistic
institutions.”
